A couple of short poems

Estella, written 7/2/2021. A poem inspired by my friend Estella, what I think of when I think of her and our long distance relationship.

Oceans wide and oceans deep, she dives in with fury.

Hand her the world and she smiles, take her world and feel her wrath.

Time and space will not separate, the further the distance the closer she appears.

Rare as pearls yet familiar as an old friend.

Nature's Cycle, written 7/6/2021.

Life moves ever on, churning waves and the decaying bones of trees.

The water is sacred and the leaves change color without interference.

Magic is all around you and shows itself in the patterns of flowers and the hum of fungi.

She lies deep in the rustle of ferns and the shape of an acorn.

Stop, listen, feel, smell. She’s with you always in the babble of a creek and the buzz of bees.

You can find Her if you look.

She’ll find you if you let Her.
