Bucky’s story is a tragic one that actually has a happy ending (for the moment). Others have talked about his struggles but I want to touch on one specific thing, his work with therapy and recovery from trauma (mostly in Falcon and the Winter Soldier). I don’t have PTSD, but I do have a lot of trauma mostly related to health and medical trauma. I’ve been in therapy for over a year and worked through a lot of hard stuff and I see myself in Bucky and his recovery in FATWS. Mischief follows like a shadow, both yours and of nature. You cannot help it, for nature becomes you. The role you play is your own despite the forces that try and claim you as that which you are not. Mischief and folly and mistakes, falling down, feet finding their way, making amends, triumph and glory at the success of finding you. What makes a You a You? The answer, my slippery one, has always resided in your heart. But I cannot tell you, that you must search for yourself. A dagger it may be, but you are the one wielding it.
